Audition Information
Registration is currently closed but will open on Dec. 23, 2025.

Please have your student(s) prepare the following for their audition:

A 32-bar selection from any musical theatre piece (no Pop or Contemporary Christian). The lists below can provide some suggestions, however you may choose songs that are not on this list. If you choose a song that is not on the list below, please send the link to your accompaniment track after receiving the EWS email confirmation for your audition.

2026-27 Auditions:
- Starting in January 2026 we will be holding monthly auditions for our season which begins in with a one week bootcamp in late July. Regular Thursday classes begin after Labor Day. You will choose the audition date that works best for your family.
- Dates: Jan. 29, Feb. 26, March 26, and April 23.
- Time: 1:30-2:30pm
- Location: Havilah Dance Company, 10058 E Independence Blvd, Matthews, NC 28105 (map)
- Registration Deadlines: The Saturday before your chosen audition date.

This is a full school year class
- 1st Semester (fall) is devoted to the individual student's development. Daily homework is required.
- 2nd Semester (winter/spring) is devoted to preparing for our spring performances. Daily homework/review is required.

Company Class Days, Times, Ages
- Sr. Company - Thursdays, 10A-1:30P
  - Girls: ages 15 - no older than 18 as of August 1, 2026
  - Guys: all ages with voice change no older than 18 as of August 1, 2026

Requirements:
- Memorize your song track to sing (32 bars only)
- If you choose a song that is not on the above list, please send the link to your accompaniment track after receiving the EWS email confirmation for your audition. No A Capella singing.
- Wear clothing that you can easily move in, and bring jazz/character shoes if you own them.
- Bring a headshot of your student(s) who will be auditioning. Does not need to be professional, but it does need to be printed out.
- One parent is required to remain at the audition.

Before registering to audition, read the following important information:

Attendance:
- Regular attendance for ALL students is crucial, particularly during the 2nd Semester as we prepare for our spring performances.
- If you accept an offer to register as a company member, you are committing for your student to be at every class/rehearsal (except for illness or death in the family).
- Should more than two (2) absences occur per semester, your student may be asked to leave the program.
Homework (Student Responsibility):
- Commitment to complete assigned homework is expected.
- Commitment to use the homework tracks/links we provide is a MUST
Communication (Parental Responsibility):
- At least one parent must read ALL communications we send out
- If you are unable/unwilling to read our communications, this is not the right program for your family.
